International Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder Day
09 September 2010 in Cape Town

The FASD Task Team invites you to mark the eleventh anniversary of International Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) Day.

The focus this year is on FASD Ambassadors. Twenty schools across the Peninsula will each be invited to send two students and a teacher to become FASD Ambassadors in their own schools. They will engage with their peers on the dangers of drinking alcohol during pregnancy.

The learners will also interact with Take-Away Theatre during a performance of “Liefdeskind” which highlights the dynamics of FASD.

Programme of 9 September
09h00: Introduction by Peter Lourens
09h09: Bell Ringing led by Tisha Lourens
09h12: Take-Away Theatre presentation of Liefdeskind
10h00: Key-note speaker
10h30: Presentation of Pledges

Most health facilities and libraries will also have activities to raise awareness about FASD on 9 September.
